Memorial Day with Family

We got to visit with D's sister and her family who were in town from the D.C. area.

Cousins!! We couldn't get Francesco to sit for the pic so D quickly tossed him onto the couch - he wasn't too happy with his uncle after a stunt like that!

My 15 minutes

My dear friend Becca asked to interview me for her "good things" blog. Who, me? Why?
Because of my interest in art history AND art collecting, she says. So I answered the questions she emailed and you can read the interview here
*Warning: I answered the questions very, very late one night and after re-reading them I realized how long-winded I was...sorry.

Becca is my good friend from the art history days at BYU. Her husband just finished med school at Yale (yup, they are a super-smart couple) and they are off to residency. Her family blog is on the sidebar: Shane and Becca.  They are fabulous and I feel lucky to call them friends.

Thanks, Becca for giving me my 15 minutes of fame. :)

Summer is here

It was 90 degrees this weekend! It is already too hot for me... I shot a few pics before and after church today - the girls in their white dresses from Grandma Chris.

Mother's Day

It was a great mother's day this year. Festivities began on Friday with Little S's preschool Mother's Day tea party. It was BYOT (bring your own teacup). The kids sang a few sweet songs - like "I L-O-V-E-Y-O-U" to the tune of the Oscar Meyer Bologna song - and each class made gifts for their moms. Little S is holding the yellow tissue flower and glitter vase she made for me.

Baby J loved her first tea party - she had perfect manners.

D got back from Florida late Saturday night but still managed to arrive with beautiful flowers and a gift. He made a delicious breakfast and dinner for me and the girls - notice the sweet potato crisps he made and artfully displayed in the sweet potato mash. It was a lovely day!

More favorite things...

MORNINGS:
Because waking up to these smiles makes me smile. When I walk up to Baby J in the morning her face just explodes with a big smile - I love it!

THE FAM TOGETHER:
D was gone to a conference last week. He got back late Saturday night so this was the scene Sunday morning when Little S and Baby J realized he was back.

SWEET PEAS:
Our good friend and neighbor Lauree (Little S lovingly calls her Nana) has a beautiful backyard and garden that we enjoy frolicking in a few evenings each week. Her sweet peas were gorgeous the last few weeks - it almost makes me want to garden, but I think we'll just stick with enjoying Lauree's efforts for now.

A few of my favorite things...

This is currently one of my favorite shows on tv - it airs on public television and you can check the schedule for upcoming episodes. I love it because it is part travel show, part cooking show, and part celebrity reality show (even though I despise reality tv). Gwyneth is one of my favorite celebrities and style icons - her unfussy mom glamour is fantastic. I wish I could wear a scarf the way she does while cruising through Spain in a Mercedes convertible. I have also grown to love Mario  - he calls Gwyneth "G.P." and I think it's so cute.

Have more favorites to post but the baby is crying...must post them later.
